Power of Inspectors

In any area where the Act or regulations apply any Board inspector may at any time when hairdressing is being practiced or is usually thought to be carried on, enter into and upon the premises of a hairdresser's shop for the purpose of ascertaining whether any of the provisions of the Act or regulations is being contravened.

The inspector may require any person on such premises who is performing any of the functions of a hairdresser to produce their certificate of registration for inspection, or to establish to the satisfaction of the inspector that they are an indentured apprentice.

Definition of a Hairdresser's Shop - A "Hairdresser's Shop" means any place wherein or whereon hairdressing is practiced or where the Board has reason to believe hairdressing is being practiced. Should entry to the hairdressing shop be refused all details will be immediately reported to the Registrar who will initiate the appropriate legal action against the offending parties.
