Hairdressing & Beauty Industry Campaign
The Workplace Ombudsman is commencing a targeted education and compliance campaign focusing on the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry in WA in January 2008. The Workplace Ombudsman is the independent agency responsible for protecting and enforcing the workplace rights of workers and employers under Commonwealth workplace relations laws. Workplace Inspectors will audit compliance with rights and obligations particulary in relation to:
- the issuing of pay slips
- time and wagesw record keeping
- correct rates of pay
- loadings and penalty rates
- non-remunerated additional hours of work (including unpaid trial work
- employers' obligations when negotiating workplace agreements.
